Revision Policy
All our software is under constant development. It's our policy to post
revisions whenever we are notified of any problem with the software , whether it
be a small problem or a large problem. If your software download came in a zip
file, when updating the software, it is
best to uninstall the software, and then install the new software. (Leave shared
files on your computer when un-installing).
If the installer package came in an exe
file, you do not have to uninstall first. We are in the process of changing all
installer packages to the new exe format.
With all the different sound cards and unique computer configurations problems
are inevitable.
We thank all the loyal users of the software for their problem reports.

register all components properly. Also fixed timing of un-keying the radio when
playing a wave file
Version 2.7.4 (Build 06/17/08)
Fixed problem with two tone calibration tone would not start in some PTT modes.
Fixed CW identifier test, where sometimes it would not test, when software was in
a PTT receive mode. Noise Gate level now independent of Mic Gain level on main
dialog. Editorial changes to help file.
Version 2.7.3 (Build 06/02/08)
Fixed problem where software would sometimes start and show an error
message after installing a new sound card or reinstalling a sound card driver
and just quitting. Restarting software would correct
problem. Better detection of DirectX problems.
Added File menu
choice to change to another Preset without saving the current Preset. Changed
equalizer on/off to radio buttons. Solves control focus problem if using the PTT
Space Bar mode. Editorial
changes to Help file.
Version 2.7.2 (Build 05/24/08)
Fixed problem where software would hang and sometimes stops responding
when CAT support was enabled and CAT program not running.
Increased number of Quick Presets to six. Incorporated radio buttons to change
from one Preset to another and automatically saving Preset before changing. This
simplifies management of Quick Presets. Title bar now reflects friendly name of
the Quick Preset in use.
Version 2.7.1 (Build 05/15/08)
Added option to swap the Mic In and Line In on sound cards running
under Windows 2000 and Windows XP. (Vista already allowed this) This will
allow the user to use a Line In input in the transmit modes. This option is
useful for sound cards that have an inferior microphone preamplifier that
exhibits poor sound quality.
Fixed problem where the audio stream wouldn't restart properly when closing the
sound card dialog without selecting Cancel or Okay.
Fixed logic on Line out Always Muted Option without cycling through the EQ
modes.
Version 2.7.0 (Build 05/09/08)
Fixed problem where audio stream didn't start correctly when in Rig
Interface and going into Transmit mode.
Version 2.6.9 (Build 05/05/08)
Fixed problem where certain sound cards would not initialize correctly
only under Windows Vista, does not effect Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Added an
option to key transmitter when playing wave files. Editorial changes to Help
file
Version 2.6.8 (Build 05/03/08)
Starting the calibrated test tone now will key transmitter if serial
port support is enabled. Better
normalization of recorded wave files, especially if sound cards clock is off a
bit (most are). Added alternate algorithm for the random noise reduction.
Smoothed out audio level changes during changing receive filtering
parameters. Editorial
changes to Help File
Version 2.6.7 (Build 04/23/08)
Minor cosmetic changes. Increased evaluation time to 30 hours due to all the new
enhanced
features to explore. Editorial changes to Help File.
Version 2.6.6 (Build 04/05/08)
Minor problems catching error's on Serial Port
setup. Some combinations of incorrect Serial Port selections were going
undetected. Editorial changes to the Help File. No significant operational
changes.
Version 2.6.5 (Build 03/26/08)
Added support for concurrently running a SSTV
program. Please note some sound cards, SSTV software or operating systems
preclude the running of two programs that access a sound card.
Version 2.6.4 (Build 03/12/08)
Fixed problem where Noise Gate mode was not
working, if the CW I'der was disabled.
Version 2.6.3 (Build
03/09/08)
Fixed serial port selection. Would not retain the
correct serial port after selection, other than Comm 1.
Version 2.6.2 (Build 03/08/08)
Fixed version number not
showing correctly. Also disabled "Highest" in the software priority level
selection due to receiving complaints of machines locking up if selected. This
version will detect that setting and reset it to "High". We would like to have
more reports of
this problem. Please include operating system,
service packs installed, memory available, and type anti-virus software. We
believe it may be related to anti-virus software, not liking a program running
with that high of a priority.
Version 2.6.1 (Build
03/07/08)
Editorial changes and a bit of reorganization of
the help file.
Version 2.6.0 (Build
02/25/08)
Added support for Rig Control Programs (CAT
programs) such as Ham Radio Deluxe, when using a hardware interface that will
share a serial port for both rig control and RTS/CTS for switching the
transceiver from transmit and receive. The West Mountain RigBlaster Pro has this
facility. Fixed CW I'der when using the Noise Gate mode, now supports ID after
in the Noise Gate mode. Fixed nuisance trips of the PTT line when switching
modes.
Version 2.5.9 (Build
02/17/08)
Fixed problem with the DspHelper.dll. This problem
would manifest it's self randomly during program execution.
Version 2.5.8 (Build
02/16/08)
Fixed bug where software wouldn't go back to
transmit mode in the "Space Bar" PTT mode, if the CW' Ider was disabled. Also
redesigned Sound Card Level dialog box under Windows 2000 and Windows XP, for
similarity to the look and feel of the Vista Sound Card Level dialog box.
Version 2.5.7 (Build 02/10/08)
Reworked the synchronizing of audio
buffers under Windows 2000 and Windows XP. There should be less dropouts and
interruptions of the audio when the computer is doing other tasks under Windows
2000 and Windows XP. Added a software priority level setting on the select sound
card dialog, to help mitigate audio interruptions due to the computer being
busy. Included in the package is the updated DLL file for the Windows Vista
users.
Version 2.5.6 (Build 02/06/08)
In enhancing the error handling in
version 2.5.5, I introduced a small bug. When selecting other than the standard
buffer size for a sound card, when returning to the sound card select dialog, it
would always show standard buffer size, even though the buffer size was set to
something else. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Version 2.5.5 (Build 02/04/08)
Better error handling of sound card
and DirectX problems. If a sound device or devices didn't initialize correctly,
when selecting the same or different devices the user is forced to click on the
"Okay" button. This problem occurs when a sound card driver is reinstalled, or a
new sound card is installed.
Version 2.5.4 (Build 02/01/08)
Fixed bug when the software is using
"Rig Interface" T/R option and CW I'der was disabled, software wouldn't
switch back to receive. Also added manual gain control if the receive filtering
is disabled.
Version 2.5.3 (Build 01/30/08)
Moved the Effects Processor and
Receive Filtering setup to the Setup menu. Added option to disable all receive
filtering for receivers that don't need any additional filtering. General
Settings dialog box is less cluttered with the addition of a tabbed panel. Fixed
bug where the Line record level was not saved correctly when running under
Vista.
Version 2.5.2 (Build 01/10/08)
Fixed some broken help file links.
Added more extensive error reporting with some written error files that may be
emailed to help solve sound card and/or DirectX issues. Fixed problem where
"Help" was always a top window. Set maximum reverb time to 500 ms, instead of
2000 ms Recalibrated CW I'der volume level.
Version 2.5.1 (Build 01/01/08)
Fixed bug that would occasionally
crash the software, if a parameter file was corrupt.
Version 2.5.0 (Build 12/21/07)
Added variable High Pass cutoff
frequency control (25 Hz to 250 Hz). Added additional Bass and Treble controls.
Also added an Input Noise gate. This is very helpful in blocking low level hiss
or noise from a sound cards input stages. Fixed bug that would crash the
software when accessing the Effects Processor, after turning off the Effects
Processor and then turning it back on, when there were Effects that were
enabled. Software would work fine after restarting.
Version 2.4.5 (Build 11/27/07)
Fixed bug where program would crash
when the Effects processor was disabled.
Version 2.4.4 (Build 11/26/07)
Added Input Gain parameter to the
reverb effects. This allows a more subtle reverb effect to the audio. Also
added a second reverb effect (a second reflection). Fixed minor bugs involved
saving effects processor settings. Added second notch to transmit EQ, also added
feature to alter the frequency of the notches.
Version 2.4.3 (Build 10/31/07)
Cosmetic
changes, now checks and uses windows system font. SegeoUI under Vista and Tahoma
under XP and 2000. This enhances the readability of labels. Fixed default
settings for the Effects Processor. Better calibration of two tone test signal
for setting up audio levels.
Fixed software crashing running under Vista running under XP compatibility mode.
If running under XP compatibility mode, the "Master" sound level control will
not function correctly
Version 2.4.2 (Build 10/20/07)
Fixed CW
identifier when set to "Xmit on Time" when the EQ is in Xmit Only or
Noise Gate mode. Minor cosmetic changes. Editorial changes in the Help File.
Version 2.4.1 (Build 08/20/07)
Fixed problem
where occasionally CW I'der would transmit ID at the beginning
of transmission when set to transmit ID at the end of transmission.
Version 2.4.0 (Build 08/10/07)
Fixed bug
concerning saving the effects processor settings.
Minor cosmetic changes.
Ability to assign friendly names to the Quick Preset buttons.
Changed the way the equalizer loads a setting file on startup. Uses the last
file opened, instead of the "default" file.
Better error handling for serial port problems, especially when serial ports on
the system are not in numerical order. i.e. user utilized the control panel to
renumber the serial port or are using USB to serial cable and have it installed
with a com number not in strict numerical order. Serial port information is now
saved to the registry instead of the individual disk files.
Version 2.3.1 (Build 07/30/07)
Fixed bug that
sometime switching back and forth from receive and transmit and the receive
auto receive notch filter was active, the EQ would lose its settings for
transmit audio. Also fixed peak and average meters to respond to either right
if the left channel had no audio due to the
architecture of the sound card.
Version 2.3.0 (Build 07/21/07)
Added 160 Hz notch with variable
bandwidth. Better frequency and EQ boost/cut calibration especially with sample
rates below 32000.
Version 2.2.6 (Build 07/15/07)
Fixed problem
where occasionally using a mode that doesn't require comm port
access, software would access the port, causing conflicts with other software
requiring comm port access.
Version 2.2.5 (Build 06/20/07)
Very minor fixes. Includes updated
DLL for Windows Vista.
Version 2.2.4 (Build 06/04/07)
Software would not switch between
transmit and receive when in a mode that utilizes both receive and transmit, if
CW identifier was disabled.
Version 2.2.3 (Build 06/02/07)
Sometimes
software would keep rig keyed in transmit if when the CW identifier
was disabled.
Version 2.2.2 (Build 05/22/07)
Fixed bug and program crashes when
bringing up the wave recording dialog, under certain circumstances.
Version 2.2.1 (Build 05/21/07)
Fixed bug in
wave recording when using sample rates that are different when recording over a
file (including the temp file). Added a new selection for aid in bringing up the
receive audio
when switching from transmit. The CW identifier now has the option of sending
the CW ID at
the end of a transmission.
Version 2.2.0 (Build 05/12/07)
Added support
for sound cards such as the M-Audio Delta 44 that needs separate
audio streams for recording input. Windows 2000 & XP only.
Fixed error when selecting wide receive filters when using sampling rates
less than 32000.
